The NEO Rock ‘n’ Roller Girls were formed on May 16, 2007 by 11 passionate women who shared a desire to leave their mark on the world through Roller Derby. Other women heard about their dream and quickly joined. They became a league run by the skaters, for the skaters; everyone working together.
Through the hard work and dedication of these women, 2008 finds us ready for our premier competitive season. We are very excited to bring the fastest growing women’s amateur sport in the country to the Akron/Canton area! We will continue to work hard throughout this year to reach our goal of becoming sanctioned by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (www.WFTDA.com).
Although the sport itself is important to us, we believe that giving back to our community is a major part of the Roller Derby movement. That is why we incorporate charitable acts into everything we do, whether it is raising money, donating money, holding collection drives or performing community service.
